I'll make you smile...

Some time ago, I asked my father how dating worked in the days when there were no mobile phones. In particular, if you made an appointment and then didn't meet again. Logically, he replied: "Everyone went home".

The answer may seem trivial but, if we think that today we call each other even if we are one block from the other just to tell the person we are almost there, we immediately realize the reality we live is diametrically opposite to that of "so many years ago”, as the title of a beautiful piece by Astor Piazzolla states.

I have always liked to imagine what life was like when you sent a letter and, before getting an answer, it had to reach its destination, when it took days (maybe even months) to reach a destination, depending on the distance; when feelings traveled on the frequencies of thoughts and not on the immediacy of a text message.

I often merge myself in this dimension when I want to alienate myself from the frenzy of this time, noting every time how music has the power to stop body and mind and to lead the spirit to an elsewhere with an unreachable consciousness.

Notturno, my next piano solo single dated August 18, 2022, speaks of a distant time of which the frenzy of the present has erased the memories.

In a historical moment where everything runs and evolves at the speed of light, through my music I click on the replay button, I rewind the tape and I fall into a dimension far away in time, where there are just me and the broad spectrum of my emotions.

The mood, typically introspective; the setting, that of those who look out of the window on a summer evening and perceive outside and inside that quiet and calm typical of those who find themselves alone at home with the desire to spend some time with themselves and with your own memories.
